This practice is very soothing for your whole being, helping shift from the “fight and flight” sympathetic to the “digest and restore” parasympathetic nervous system.

We rest in a state between waking and dreaming to achieve greater awareness of our psyche and our nature and what lies beyond ourselves.

Yoga Nidra, yogic sleep, refers both to a practice and a state.
It is sometimes translated as the sleep of awakening. Awakening to a center of peace and calm within, to a sense of wholeness and to the power of your subconscious. The practice to get there involves awareness of breath, relaxation, a rotation of consciousness through the body to turn the attention inward. As the attention reaches into the depth of your being, the contents of the unconscious mind can arise for integration and release. A Sankalpa, heartfelt resolve, can be invited through the practice for personal evolution. This practice leaves you with a sense of rejuvenation and wholeness.

“Anxiety and fear are messengers showing us that we are separated. Do not try to get rid of them as they will show us the exact place where we are separated.”

–Richard Miller, founder of iRest yoga nidra.

Kathy is fascinated by the power of the subconscious, dreaming and meditative states like Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra has been part of her daily routine for several years, helping her find balance in life. She enjoys music and likes to integrate some soothing sounds to her recordings.

I’d love your feedback on how these recordings work for you, any questions you may have and any intention or focus you would like me to help bring into future practices.

Much Love,
Kathy
