TYPES OF MASSAGE
What is Therapeutic Massage?
The type of Table Massage I offer is a blend of Swedish Massage,
Myofascial and Trigger Point therapy to facilitate both relaxation and a therapeutic shift.
What is Thai Yoga?
Thai Yoga originates in Thailand and features assisted stretches, joint mobilization and acupressure along energetic lines. The rocking motion that often accompanies the strokes has a soothing effect on the nervous system and helps the body restore its energy.
What is Cupping Massage?
Cupping is a form of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM) that has been used in various cultures for centuries.
I use Silicone Cups to create a vacuum that pulls soft tissue away from underlying structures, helping release myofascial restrictions and increasing local circulation to support tissue health. Typical massage adds pressure onto tissues, which may be counter-productive in areas where tissues are particularly dense or tight already.
The effect of the decompression/negative pressure created by the cup can be very therapeutic. Temporary painless marks resembling bruises will sometimes appear after cupping therapy. These are due to the unlocking of stagnant blood/fluid and typically disappear within a week post-treatment.
What is Pre/postnatal Massage?
Pregnancy massage promotes ease and relaxation to the expecting parent. Extra pillows and wedge are used for optimal comfort as client lies on back or side. Postnatal massage focuses on emotional and physical wellbeing postpartum.
What is Infant Massage?
In Infant Massage classes, you learn to enhance your connection with your child through nurturing touch and smooth communication. This practice promotes bonding, stimulates healthy baby development, sensory awareness and helps alleviate common discomforts.
